The master distiller of Tomintoul (Robert Fleming) has worked in the whisky industry since 1974, and been in his current role since 1990. His family have deep roots in the whisky industry, Robert being the fourth generation to be involved in making Speyside whisky.
Tomintoul distillery wasn't established until 1965 with the current owners (Angus Dundee) purchasing the distillery in 2000.
The Tlàth (pronounced Tlah) means gentle in Gaelic and is a no age statement (NAS) whisky which is matured for at least 3 years in ex bourbon barrels.
Nose: Light & sweet, with vanilla, honey & citrus fruit notes
Palate: A creamy textured dram, with a taste of custard, citrus fruit & light spice
Finish: Fairly short with light spices & a touch of mint
