Tomintoul 15 year old - Peaty Tang
Tomintoul 15
Speyside single malt with a peaty tang 40% ABV
Tomintoul is based in the Speyside region, which is famous for producing predominantly lighter, fruit-forward whiskies. However, the 15 Peaty Tang deviates from the typical Speyside profile by incorporating a subtle peat element, making it an intriguing option for both peat lovers and those who typically prefer non-peated whiskies
The whisky is aged for 15 years in a combination of American oak and sherry casks, which adds complexity and depth to the whisky. The American oak casks contribute vanilla and caramel notes, while the sherry casks impart dried fruit and nutty flavours
Known as the "gentle dram" of the Speyside region, Tomintoul whiskies are often characterized by their smoothness
Nose: Honey, vanilla & lemon
Palate: lightly burnt toast, caramel, vanilla & sweet apples
Finish: Short, smooth & watery
