Tamdhu 12 year old Single Malt

The distillery was established in 1897 and built alongside the River Spey, by a consortium of whisky blenders.  The distillery has been closed out mothballed on 3 occasions over the years, with the latest occurring in 2009.  Then in 2010 the distillery was acquired by Macleod Distillers and in 2011 whisky production resumed.  
 
The spirit is aged for 12 years exclusively in first fill and refill oloroso sherry casks.
 
Nose: Toasted oak, cinnamon buns, candied orange and a touch of mint 
Palate: Cinnamon, raisins, plum, banana and oak
Finish: Medium with a hint of smoke to accompany the cinnamon and raisins.
