A blended malt from Springbank Distillery owners J and A Mitchell. This blend contains all five malts, from the regions three distilleries (Springbank, Glen Scotia and Glengyle's Kilkerran).  The whisky is then matured in ex bourbon and ex sherry casks, before being bottled at Springbank.
 
The tiny Campbeltown region used to be the whisky capital of the world, with more than 30 active distilleries.  However, a range of issues including the World Wars, the Great Depression and the production of quantity over quality resulted in all but three distilleries closing in the early 1900's.
 
Nose: Stoned fruit, floral honey, some citrus fruit and a smidge of coastal infused smoke.
Palate: An oily mouthfill with honey and vanilla, toffee, stoned fruit,  sea salt and peat smoke.
Finish: Medium with nutmeg, cinnamon and more gentle peat smoke.
